Netflix has brought in some of the biggest names in comedy for the comedy special “Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year.” Hosted by Jeff Ross, the event features comedians like Tim Dillon, Hannah Berner, John Stamos, and Sam Morril. The special, which was directed by Joe DeMaio and filmed at The Bellwether in Los Angeles on December 17, premiered on Netflix on December 27.
Jeff Ross leads the night of vicious laughs as the roastmaster general, while other comedians like Tim Dillon, Hannah Berner, and Sam Morril take the stage to throw shade at the biggest moments of 2024. John Stamos makes a special appearance as the band leader, while Mark Normand joins Sam Morril on stage to deliver some hilarious jokes. Ms. Pat also adds her honest thoughts about body positivity and nepotism to the mix, while Adam Ray pokes fun at President Joe Biden.
However, the special wasn’t without controversy, as Hannah Berner received backlash for a joke about Blake Lively. The comedian later clarified that the roast was filmed before news of Lively’s legal complaint against Justin Baldoni surfaced online and expressed her support for the actress.
“Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year” is now available for streaming on Netflix, offering viewers a chance to laugh at the year’s biggest moments with some of the best comedians in the business.
