UConn Women’s Basketball Team Defeats Providence 67-41

The seventh-ranked UConn women’s basketball team secured a 67-41 victory over Providence, with redshirt senior Paige Bueckers leading the charge with 23 points. Bueckers shot 66.7 percent from the field and made all six of her free throw attempts, adding four rebounds, four assists, and two steals to her impressive performance.

Freshman Sarah Strong continued her streak of scoring in double digits in every game of her college career, contributing 14 points against Providence. Redshirt freshman Jana El Alfy made her first career start, while graduate student Azzi Fudd returned to the starting lineup for the game.

Sophomores KK Arnold and Ashlynn Shade each recorded four steals as UConn capitalized on turnovers, scoring 40 points off 31 turnovers forced against Providence. The team now looks ahead to their upcoming game against Marquette on New Year’s Day at 2 p.m. ET on SNY.
