A white Amazon delivery van was stolen in New Haven over the weekend while the driver was making a delivery near Portsea Street and Cedar Street. The driver had left the vehicle running and unattended when a man hopped in and drove away. The white Dodge Ram van does not have the Amazon logo but displays the code R3 and has a New Jersey license plate XHVS56. Fortunately, no weapons were involved, and the driver was unharmed. Police are currently searching for the stolen van and are asking anyone with information to contact them at (203) 946-6304 or the anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS. The incident serves as a reminder to all delivery drivers to take precautions to prevent theft, such as turning off the vehicle and securing it while making deliveries.
