Two Oregon men, aged 59 and 37, were found dead in a Washington state forest after going missing on a trip to search for Sasquatch. The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office concluded that the men likely died from exposure due to the harsh weather conditions and their lack of preparedness for the excursion. Sasquatch is a mythical creature believed by some to inhabit forests, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. The men were discovered in a remote area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, 150 miles northeast of Portland, after a family member reported them missing on Christmas Day. A search involving sixty volunteer search-and-rescue personnel, including canine, drone, and ground teams, was initiated and the Coast Guard used infrared technology from the air. The authorities located the men’s vehicle using camera recordings near the southern border of the national forest. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of venturing into the wilderness unprepared, especially during unfavorable weather conditions.
