The UConn women’s basketball team, currently ranked seventh, will face off against Providence in their final game of 2024. Freshman Sarah Strong was named the BIG EAST Player and Freshman of the Week, leading the team in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals. Despite a close loss to No. 7 USC, the Huskies are looking to bounce back with the celebration of Bleed Blue Year’s Eve at the upcoming game.
UConn has a strong historical record against Providence, winning the last 36 meetings between the two teams. Providence, led by head coach Erin Batth and top scorer Grace Efosa, will be looking to bounce back after a loss to Seton Hall in their BIG EAST opener.
