Neighbors in Hamden, Connecticut, raised concerns about dogs left outside in the cold, leading to animal control removing the animals from a home on Hobson Avenue. Todd Berton, a nearby business owner, reported seeing dogs chained to trees in the backyard, sparking the investigation. Several neighbors, including Michael Brandi, expressed worry about the animals’ well-being during freezing weather. Some neighbors even threw food over the fence to feed the dogs. Brandi, who works at an animal hospital, noted the dogs appeared malnourished and neglected.
When animal control and police arrived, they found multiple large dogs, as well as chickens and a rooster, in poor condition. Members of Where the Love Is Animal Rescue provided support during the removal process. Despite no one being at home when the animals were taken, a man was previously arrested at the residence. As of now, no charges have been announced in connection with the case. The community is relieved that the animals have been safely removed and are receiving care.
