Senior Advisor and Strategist in the Ministry of Tourism, Delano Seiveright, has expressed enthusiasm over the recent influx of luxury travelers to Jamaica, with 18 private jets landing at Sangster International Airport in a single day. This surge in high-profile visitors is seen as a testament to Jamaica’s growing reputation as a top-tier vacation destination.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett also hailed the tourism resurgence in Jamaica, attributing it to the country’s remarkable resilience and success in recovering from the pandemic-induced halt in travel. The presence of celebrities and high-profile individuals on the island, particularly along the scenic north coast and in tranquil areas like Portland and St Elizabeth, underscores Jamaica’s appeal to an exclusive crowd.
While specific names of celebrities were not disclosed, notable figures like Burna Boy, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Offset, Rick Ross, Omarion, and Chance the Rapper have been known to choose Jamaica for their retreats. The Ministry of Tourism highlighted a trend of elite visitors to the island over the past 18 months, including stars like 2 Chainz, Angelina Jolie, Justin Trudeau, Janet Yellen, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Tracee Ellis Ross.
From luxurious villas to renowned hotels and secluded retreats, Jamaica is currently hosting a diverse array of Hollywood stars, entertainers, politicians, and business leaders. This steady stream of high-profile visitors further solidifies Jamaica’s position as a premier destination for luxury travelers seeking an exclusive and rejuvenating experience.
