Report: Jets Owner Rejected Jerry Jeudy Trade Due to Discrepancy in Madden Rating – NBC Connecticut

The New York Jets have been embroiled in yet another controversy, as a report from The Athletic has shed light on the dysfunction within the organization over the past year. The most shocking revelation was that team owner Woody Johnson reportedly vetoed a trade for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy because of his “Madden” rating. This decision ultimately led to Jeudy being traded to the Cleveland Browns instead of joining the Jets.

The report also highlighted other instances of dysfunction within the organization, such as Johnson’s reliance on his teenage sons for input on team decisions, including draft picks and trades. The sons reportedly have access to the team locker room and have been heard criticizing Jets players after games.

The Jets have had a turbulent year, making in-season moves like firing head coach Robert Saleh and parting ways with general manager Joe Douglas. Despite these changes, the team has struggled and currently holds a 4-10 record.

As the Jets finish their season with games against tough opponents like the Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, and Miami Dolphins, the focus will soon shift to the critical offseason ahead. With the longest postseason drought in professional sports, the Jets will need to address the dysfunction within the organization if they hope to improve in the future.
