The Department of Consumer Protection in Connecticut has issued a warning about a toy sold at Ocean State Job Lot locations that poses a choking hazard to children. The toy in question is the Little Tikes Wood Lacing Shapes, manufactured by Creative Kids Far East Inc., and contains small parts that are unsuitable for children under the age of 3. Over 3,500 of these toy sets have been manufactured since 2023 and were sold exclusively at Ocean State Job Lot stores. In Connecticut alone, 284 toy sets have been embargoed due to the choking hazard. DCP officials have advised parents to stop using the toy immediately and return it to the store for a full refund or dispose of it. DCP Commissioner Bryan T. Cafferelli emphasized the importance of inspecting toys for potential hazards and provided a simple test to determine if a toy contains small parts that could be a choking hazard. The product information for the recalled toy includes the name and model, manufacture date, and retail locations where it was sold.
