West Hartford, Conn. – A shooting incident on Hillcrest Avenue in West Hartford led to the temporary closure of the road as police investigated on Wednesday afternoon. A man was injured in the shooting and was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, he is expected to survive.
The road closure, which lasted from about 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., extended from Lynn Court to Abbotsford Avenue. Eric Vie, a nearby resident, expressed concern for his family and neighbors in the wake of the incident.
Police conducted a thorough investigation, speaking with witnesses and collecting home surveillance footage. Within a short period of time, they were able to identify a suspect and make an arrest. A firearm believed to be connected to the shooting was also recovered. Police assured the public that there was no ongoing threat.
