Connecticut students are honoring the memory of a Long Island teen, Penny, who bravely fought neurofibromatosis (NF) by spreading joy and raising funds for research. Penny lived with NF, undergoing surgeries and treatment with a positive attitude until she passed away at the age of 16. Her parents started Penny’s Flight, a movement to support NF research and find a cure. Chapters of Penny’s Flight have sprung up in various locations, including Trinity College and Choate Rosemary Hall. Students like Daphne Fallon have taken part in events and activities to support the cause, including producing a documentary about Penny’s life. Penny’s Flight has become a movement, with supporters inspired by Penny’s light and positivity. The family is grateful for the support and sees Penny’s Flight as a way to honor Penny’s spirit and help others. The community is encouraged to learn more and support Penny’s Flight to continue spreading joy and raising awareness in honor of Penny.
