In a shocking turn of events, Congress leaders have accused BJP MLC CT Ravi of using a highly derogatory term against Karnataka’s Minister for Women and Child Development, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, during a session of the Legislative Council. The Congress has condemned the alleged remarks as offensive and a blatant attack on women’s dignity.
The controversy unfolded after Zero Hour in the Council when Congress MLCs were protesting against Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks about BR Ambedkar. According to Congress MLC Nagaraj Yadav, Ravi verbally abused Hebbalkar multiple times, prompting an immediate uproar from the Congress.
Ravi denied the allegations initially, but later stated that the footage would reveal the truth. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called the incident a criminal act and urged the police to take suitable action. Ravi criticized the CM for making false allegations without evidence.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about the respect for women in politics. Hebbalkar’s supporters allegedly attempted to attack Ravi in Suvarna Soudha. The situation remains tense as investigations continue.
