A Wallingford woman, Judy Senft, thought she had won a year’s supply of Charmin toilet paper, but her excitement was short-lived after receiving an email stating it was sent in error. The company offered her a $2 coupon instead, leaving Senft disappointed. Many other consumers have reported similar experiences on social media. Despite the company’s apology and explanation, Senft felt something was amiss and reached out to NBC CT Responds for help. Charmin later offered Senft a $50 coupon as a gesture of goodwill. Senft, who has had a challenging year due to health issues, expressed her frustration at the situation. NBC CT Responds has contacted Procter & Gamble and the sweepstakes company for comments but has not received a response. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and clear communication from companies when dealing with promotions and contests.
