While Vick’s career suffered a setback due to his involvement in a dog fighting scandal in 2007, he made a comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009. Vick’s hiring follows a trend of former NFL stars coaching at historically Black colleges, with Deion Sanders at Jackson State and Eddie George at Tennessee State. Vick’s hiring at Norfolk State marks a new chapter in his post-NFL career, where he will have the opportunity to lead and inspire a new generation of players.
