UConn Ready to Face Off Against Gonzaga in Top-20 Matchup at Madison Square Garden

The No. 18 UConn men’s basketball team (7-3) is set to take on the No. 8 Gonzaga Bulldogs (7-2) in a highly anticipated match-up at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. This game is part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Series and will be broadcast on FOX Primetime Hoops.

UConn will be making its debut at Madison Square Garden this season after going 7-0 there last year. The Huskies are coming off of three consecutive wins, including victories over then-No. 15 Baylor and Texas. Preseason All-American Alex Karaban leads the team in scoring, while Solo Ball and Liam McNeeley have also been key contributors.

On the Gonzaga side, Graham Ike leads a balanced offense that ranks second in Kenpom offensive efficiency. Ryan Nembhard adds an impressive 10.7 assists per game, the best in the NCAA.

This match-up is a ‘return’ game after the two teams faced off last season in Seattle, with UConn coming out on top. New York City will be the seventh destination for the series, which dates back to 1999.

After this non-conference test, UConn will open BIG EAST play against Xavier on December 18. The Huskies will be looking to continue their strong start to the season and build momentum heading into conference play.
