Irish gymnast Rhys McClenaghan, known for his prowess in the pommel horse, made history by winning an Olympic gold medal this summer. The 25-year-old was named RTÉ’s Sportsperson of the Year last year and is now gearing up for the LA Games in 2025.
McClenaghan is one of the contestants in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars on RTÉ. Other celebrities joining him include TV presenter Elaine Crowley, celebrity chef Kevin Dundon, social media star Kayleigh Trappe, and actress Yasmin Seky.
Crowley, who co-hosts Ireland AM, has been open about her struggles with dysphoria and is ready to step out of her comfort zone by competing on the show. Dundon, known for his cooking shows and serving presidents and royalty, is gearing up for the competition with enthusiasm, comparing his first dance to making a risotto.
Trappe, who gained fame through TikTok and Instagram, is excited about the opportunity to showcase her talents on a bigger stage. Meanwhile, Seky, known for her role in the RTÉ drama Kin, is feeling a bit nervous but is ready to give it her all.
These celebrities will join other contestants like singer Mickey Joe Harte and taekwondo Olympian Jack Woolley on the show. The final celebrity participant will be announced soon to complete the Dancing with the Stars lineup for 2025.
