A storm that hit Connecticut caused power outages and hazardous situations across the state. In Haddam, a power line fell on a school bus with 13 students and a driver inside, but luckily no one was injured. Eversource removed the line so the students could safely evacuate and be reunited with their parents. Additionally, a downed wire on Turkey Hill Road sparked a tree. People along the shoreline experienced large waves and rain. Other areas, such as Putnam and Tolland, also had downed trees. Utility crews have been working tirelessly to respond to these outages. Norwich Public Utilities fixed a large outage affecting 600 customers and another one impacting 50 people. Officials urge individuals to stay away from downed wires and report outages promptly. Despite the challenges posed by the storm, residents like John Moore and John Sim are maintaining a positive attitude and not letting the weather dampen their spirits.
