Four people displaced following house fire in Norwalk

A house fire on Wednesday in Norwalk led to the rescue of two people, according to fire officials. The fire occurred at 5:35 p.m. on Forbell Drive, where two occupants were trapped inside the home. Fortunately, two other occupants were able to evacuate before firefighters arrived.

The fire, which started in the kitchen and was spreading towards the front of the house, required the efforts of 25 firefighters to extinguish. Four occupants were displaced as a result of the fire and were taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation. Three of them were later transferred to the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Unit due to smoke inhalation.

The Fairfield Avenue Bridge, which had been closed for construction for months, has now reopened. The Norwalk Fire Department’s prompt response and actions helped prevent further damage and injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
