Amber Alert Canceled; Missing Children Found Safe in Stoughton, MA
An Amber Alert issued Friday night for three missing children in Stoughton, Massachusetts, was promptly canceled after they were located safely. The alert was initiated following allegations of parental kidnapping involving 29-year-old Ashley Vazquez.
State police confirmed around 11 p.m. that the children—aged 8, 9, and 10—had been found safe, approximately an hour after they were reported missing. The Canton Police Department was the first to announce the positive outcome, as police utilized geolocation technology to track Vazquez’s vehicle to the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston.
Witnesses in Stoughton reported an active police investigation at a residence associated with Vazquez, heightening concerns about the children’s safety. Earlier in the day, police stated that Vazquez had allegedly taken her children from their home, packing their belongings before leaving. Authorities noted they had reason to believe the children may have been in danger.
While the children were found unharmed, it remains unclear if Vazquez has been taken into custody. The Stoughton Police Department has stated that the oldest child is actually 10 years old, contrary to earlier information that indicated 11.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities have not released further details, but the swift resolution of the Amber Alert has sparked relief among community members and law enforcement alike, emphasizing the effective use of technology in locating the children quickly and safely.
