Connecticut high school football is in full swing, with eight athletes nominated for SBLive’s Connecticut Football Player of the Week award. Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite athlete, with Waterford’s Higgins standing out after a stellar performance in a 26-6 victory over Ledyard.
Voting for Player of the Week ends on October 27th, with the winner being announced in the following week’s poll. Some standout nominees include a North Haven running back who rushed for 296 yards and scored six touchdowns, a senior running back who had a great game in a 45-0 win over Woodstock Academy, and a freshman quarterback who impressed in a 42-6 victory over Capital Prep Harbor.
Despite some impressive individual performances, the focus of the award is to highlight the abilities and accomplishments of all athletes and teams included in the poll. Voting bots and automated voting are not allowed, and individuals will be removed from the poll if any form of automated voting is verified.
Fans are encouraged to vote often and share the polls with others to show support for their favorite high school athletes. Stay updated on the latest high school football news by bookmarking High School on SI and downloading the SBLive Sports app for live updates on your phone.
