Connecticut experienced some much-needed rain overnight and early this morning as a warm front passed through the state. However, dry, bright, and very warm weather is expected for today and tomorrow, with temperatures reaching into the 70s. Inland areas may even come close to breaking the record high of 82 degrees set in 1946 on Halloween. Although a few more showers are possible on Friday morning as a cold front moves through, cooler temperatures in the 50s are expected for the first weekend of November.
It’s also important to remember to set clocks back one hour on Saturday night for the end of Daylight Saving Time and update batteries in carbon monoxide and smoke alarms. Looking ahead to next week, another warm-up is expected for Election Day.
Today, very high fire danger continues with sunshine and high clouds along with windy and warm conditions. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to middle 70s. Tonight will bring a few passing clouds and mild temperatures in the 48 to 56 range.
Halloween is expected to be mostly sunny and unseasonably warm, with temperatures near 80 degrees inland and 70-75 along the shore. Friday will see morning showers followed by some sun and windy conditions, with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s. Saturday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the mid 50s. Sunday and Monday will bring sun with clouds and highs in the mid-upper 50s and low 60s, respectively. On Election Day, expect more clouds and warmer temperatures near 70 degrees.
