Fudd Selected for Meyers Drysdale Watch List

UConn Women’s Basketball Graduate Student Azzi Fudd Named to 2025 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List

UConn women’s basketball graduate student Azzi Fudd has been selected to the watch list for the 2025 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which honors the top shooting guard in women’s NCAA Division I college basketball. Fudd, who returns after missing most of the 2023-24 season due to injury, averaged 15.1 points in 15 games in 2022-23. She also shot 43.0 percent from three-point range as a freshman and was named to the 2021-22 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. Fudd has also been selected as a preseason All-BIG EAST player.

This prestigious award is named after the first player, regardless of gender, to be chosen for an All-America Team in four consecutive college seasons. UConn alumna Christyn Williams won the award in 2022, and redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was recently named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list.

Fan voting will begin on November 1, with the watch list of 20 players being narrowed down to 10 in late January and then to 5 in late February. The five finalists will be presented to Ann Meyers Drysdale and the Hall of Fame’s selection committees, composed of top women’s college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers, who will select the winners in March.
