The Connecticut Medical Examining Board has suspended Doctor Henry Todd’s medical license after accusations of pressuring two patients for sexual contact in exchange for prescriptions and drugs. The Department of Public Health stated that Doctor Todd posed a clear and immediate danger to patients due to his actions.
Doctor Todd worked at the Plainville office of Hartford Healthcare Medical Group and was terminated after a patient reported sexual misconduct. The DPH reported that he engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with two patients and prescribed controlled substances without proper examinations or medical justification. He also accessed the healthcare records of one patient more than 2500 times after she had stopped being his patient, using the access to solicit sexual conduct.
Doctor Todd’s attorney stated that he had only recently received case records and was not adequately prepared to respond to the allegations. However, a summary suspension hearing was held, and his license was immediately suspended due to public safety concerns.
State Police reported that they did not have any active investigations into Doctor Todd, and Plainville Police did not respond to inquiries. Hartford Healthcare Medical Group issued a statement confirming Doctor Todd’s termination and reporting the incident to authorities.
The safety and well-being of patients and colleagues are a top priority for Hartford Healthcare Medical Group. The case remains ongoing, and Doctor Todd’s future in the medical field is uncertain pending further investigation and legal proceedings.
