Stacey Williams, a 56-year-old writer and former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, came forward this week with an allegation that she was groped by Donald Trump while Jeffrey Epstein watched 31 years ago. She shared her story on a public Zoom call organized by “Survivors for Kamala,” stating that her decision to speak out was motivated in part by the upcoming election. Williams denied any ties to the Democratic Party or Kamala Harris’ campaign.
Seven people who had conversations with Williams between 2006 and 2022 found her allegations against Trump and Epstein to be credible and consistent. Williams recalled being groped by Trump in 1993 at Trump Tower, with Epstein present. She also received a postcard from Trump afterward. Williams never reported the incident to the police and cut off contact with Epstein shortly afterward.
In recent years, Trump has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct, including from former columnist E. Jean Carroll. Williams decided to speak out after being featured in a film about the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. She felt it was important to provide more context given the proximity of the film’s premiere to the election. Trump continues to deny all allegations of sexual misconduct.
Williams expressed that she has slowly become more comfortable sharing her story over time and believes that it is important to speak out about the harm caused by sexual assault. Her decision to come forward comes less than two weeks before Election Day and as early voting is underway in multiple states.
