Naugatuck Woman Arrested for Animal Cruelty
Naugatuck, Conn. – Jolissa Nozier was charged with animal cruelty after her dog Rocky was found suffering from serious neglect. Police responded to noise complaints about a barking dog on Carroll Street, and neighbors reported that the woman had been away from home for 24 hours.
Police contacted Nozier, who returned home to meet with officers and check on the dog. She claimed to have had Rocky since he was a puppy. Animal control assessed the dog’s condition and determined he needed immediate medical attention, so he was surrendered to their care and taken to VCA Shoreline for treatment.
Rocky, a poodle, is now in the care of Poodle Rescue Connecticut. There are graphic images of Rocky’s neglect posted on the organization’s Facebook page, warning viewers of the disturbing content.
Nozier is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 20 to face charges of animal cruelty. This serves as a reminder to all pet owners to ensure the well-being of their animals and seek help if needed.
