Two associates, Matthew Smith and James Jacobson, are also facing charges. The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York will have a press conference on the charges. This comes after a report by BBC News alleging that Jeffries exploited men at sex parties from 2009 to 2015. Jeffries’ attorney stated they will respond to the allegations after the indictment is unsealed. Abercrombie & Fitch expressed being appalled by the allegations in the report. Following the report, Jeffries and the company were sued for allegedly ignoring his misconduct. A lawyer representing victims in the lawsuit stated that the arrests are significant for the male models victimized by Jeffries and his associates.
