Woman from New Haven receives sentence in drug case

A 61-year-old New Haven woman, Lisa Fausel, has been sentenced to 42 months in prison for her involvement in distributing narcotics. Fausel was found to be part of a larger investigation by the FBI and DEA targeting the manufacture and distribution of counterfeit oxycodone and Adderall tablets, as well as heroin and cocaine. The investigation involved wiretaps, surveillance, and traffic stops.

Willis Taylor of West Haven was identified as the main person coordinating the production and distribution of counterfeit pills and other controlled substances. He has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing. In February, a search of a motel room where Fausel was living uncovered a significant amount of cash, cocaine, and fentanyl pills.

Fausel pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess and distribute controlled substances in July and is now required to report to prison on December 16 after being released on a $100,000 bond. Twelve others are also facing federal charges in connection to the same investigation.

This case highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to crackdown on the illegal distribution of narcotics in the New Haven area. The sentencing of Fausel serves as a warning to others involved in similar criminal activities.
