A tragic helicopter crash in Houston on Sunday night resulted in multiple fatalities after the aircraft struck a radio tower and sparked a large fire. Police Chief J. Noe Diaz confirmed that four individuals, including a child, were on board the private helicopter at the time of the crash. The incident occurred in the Second Ward neighborhood, where the helicopter collided with the radio tower around 7:54 p.m., causing a fire that spread up to three blocks before being extinguished.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported on the ground as a result of the crash. The helicopter involved in the accident was identified as a Robinson R44. The identities of the victims have not yet been released. Both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct investigations into the cause of the crash. The community is mourning the loss of those who perished in the tragic accident, and authorities are working to determine what led to the fatal crash.
