Chris Hoy, a six-time Olympic gold medalist, has revealed in an interview with the Sunday Times that his cancer diagnosis is terminal. Hoy, 48, had initially shared his cancer diagnosis on Instagram in February, where he described his treatment as going well and his attitude as optimistic. However, he has known for a year that the cancer was terminal but kept it under wraps until now. He has written a memoir about his experience with cancer, aiming to show the harsh reality of his diagnosis while also inspiring positivity. Hoy’s cancer was discovered last September after a scan revealed a tumor in his shoulder, which had metastasized to his bones. Doctors told him he had two to four years to live, and he started chemotherapy in November. Despite facing a violent allergic reaction during treatment, Hoy remains positive and optimistic about the future, sharing his story to help others. He and his wife Sarra, who also faces a multiple sclerosis diagnosis, are staying strong and grateful for the support they have received. Hoy is currently in Copenhagen for the World Track Cycling Championships and reassured his followers that he is feeling fit, strong, and overwhelmed by the love and support shown to his family. Through his journey, Hoy hopes to change the perception of stage 4 cancer and inspire others to remain positive in the face of adversity.
