NBC Connecticut: Man Allegedly Pointed Loaded Gun at Individuals in Vehicle in Guilford and Fired Shots

A man from Guilford has been arrested after allegedly pointing a loaded gun at multiple people in a vehicle and firing it before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred on Wednesday night, with police receiving a 911 call reporting shots fired from a vehicle on Whitfield Street. After investigating witness statements and surveillance footage, authorities were able to identify a suspect.

On Friday, the suspect was arrested when he arrived at his probation appointment in New Haven. Police conducted a search of his vehicle and home, where they found the weapon used in the incident, as well as drugs, drug paraphernalia, and additional ammunition. They also discovered a machine gun conversion device that could make the handgun fully automatic.

The man initially faced charges of criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and other offenses with a $500,000 bond. Following the additional charges related to the search warrants, his bond was set at $250,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 21 for both sets of charges.

The arrest of the man comes after a violent incident in Guilford that left multiple people threatened and endangered. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case and ensure the safety of the community.
