Jay Cutler allegedly offered driver $2,000 before DUI arrest: Documents

Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested on DUI and other charges after rear-ending a driver in Franklin, Tennessee. According to the arrest affidavit, Cutler offered the driver $2,000 not to call police after the crash. Police were called to the scene of the crash where they noticed Cutler displaying signs of alcohol intoxication, refusing to take sobriety tests.

During the investigation, police found a loaded pistol and a rifle in Cutler’s vehicle. Cutler was arrested on charges of DUI, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and other related charges. He was booked into the Williamson County Jail and later released on a $5,000 bond.

Cutler, 41, played in the NFL for 12 seasons, mostly with the Chicago Bears, before retiring in 2017. He was previously married to reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, with whom he shares three children. In 2021, Cutler revealed he was experiencing symptoms associated with Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain condition linked to repeated head injuries.

Cutler’s arrest has garnered significant media attention, with many expressing concern for the former football player’s well-being and the potential consequences of his actions. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible behavior behind the wheel and the risks associated with driving under the influence of alcohol.
