Elon Musk increases incentive to $100 for voters endorsing petition promoting ‘free speech & gun rights’ – NBC Connecticut

Billionaire Elon Musk increases financial offer for swing state voters to sign conservative-leaning petition

Tech mogul Elon Musk has raised his financial incentive for registered swing state voters to sign a conservative-leaning petition in support of free speech and the right to bear arms. Musk, who is also the world’s richest person, initially offered $47 for signatures but announced in a recent post on X that he is now doubling that amount to $100. The deadline to sign the petition is Monday night, coinciding with the voter registration deadline in Pennsylvania.

Musk’s America PAC released the petition in early October and has been offering monetary rewards for signatures and referrals by registered voters in swing states. While the program skirts campaign finance laws against paying people to register to vote, Musk has been actively advocating for former President Donald Trump and urging voters to support conservative causes.

Musk, who previously claimed to be apolitical, has been increasingly vocal in his support for Trump and conservative issues since taking control of X, formerly Twitter. He has donated $75 million to his own pro-Trump super PAC and has hosted town hall events in Pennsylvania to rally support for the former president. Musk’s America PAC has also run ads on social media platforms for voter registration in swing states, drawing some controversy for its tactics.
