A Bridgeport man is in critical condition after a police officer-involved shooting early Saturday morning. Officers were called to the 100 Block of Terry Place for an “emotionally disturbed person,” where they encountered 45-year-old Huntley Jackson brandishing a knife. After Jackson displayed the weapon, the shooting occurred, leaving him in critical condition at Saint Vincent’s Hospital. Jackson’s bond is set at one million dollars, with charges including attempted murder and assault. The incident is under investigation by state authorities, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Office of the Inspector General. The Bridgeport Police Department stressed the importance of a thorough investigation in cases involving deadly force by law enforcement officers.
