Animals saved from Plymouth fire by rescue teams after roof collapse

The Terryville Volunteer Fire Department in Plymouth, Connecticut, successfully rescued two animals after a structure fire caused a roof to collapse in the Fall Mountain section of town. The fire department responded to heavy smoke and flames coming from a one-story home on Dorothy Lane on Friday afternoon at 2:00. All occupants of the home were able to escape the fire, but two pets remained inside.

During an interior attack, firefighters quickly evacuated the structure after the roof collapsed. They then switched to an exterior attack and were able to bring the flames under control, rescuing one of the dogs in the process. One animal was revived by medical personnel, while the other appeared uninjured. Both pets were transported to a veterinarian for evaluation.

Terryville fire crews, along with mutual aid from four other departments, remained at the scene to extinguish any remaining small pockets of fire. The successful rescue of the two animals highlights the dedication and quick response of the Terryville Volunteer Fire Department and its partners in ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and their furry companions during emergencies.
