During a vice presidential debate, CBS cut mics after JD Vance accused moderators of unfairly fact-checking. Vance also expressed concern for American citizens living in Springfield and suggested that Kamala Harris doesn’t believe in climate change herself. He addressed how he would respond to a historic immigration crisis and appeared to call climate change ‘weird science’. Vance also discussed the position he and former President Trump would take on immigration and the border, as well as claims Trump has made on the campaign trail. The debate also involved sparring over trusting ‘experts,’ Hurricane Helene being referred to as a ‘horrific tragedy,’ and the importance of steady leadership in response to an Iran missile strike. Looking back at Vance and Walz’s political careers, it was noted that Walz may try to ‘muck up’ the debate with personal attacks. Overall, Vance is expected to press Walz on the Biden-Harris record during the debate. This content was last updated on October 2, 2024.
