In other matches, Al-Gharafa of Qatar defeated Al-Ain of the UAE 4-2. The tournament features 24 teams divided into two groups, with the top eight from each group advancing to the round of 16.
Gwangju FC of South Korea claimed a 1-0 victory over Kawasaki Frontale of Japan, while Pohang Steelers of South Korea bounced back from an opening-round loss with a 3-0 win over Shanghai Port. Shanghai Shenhua lost by the same score to Johor of Malaysia, and Buriram United of Thailand won 2-1 against Central Coast Mariners from Australia.
The Asian Football Confederation will review Mohun Bagan’s request to reschedule their match against Tractor SC and update the relevant committees accordingly.
