A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being struck by a car near Municipal Stadium on Watertown Avenue. The incident occurred around 7:15 PM, coinciding with the kickoff for the Wilby High School game against Derby. The driver and passenger of the vehicle, a 75-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and were unharmed. The teen’s current condition has been described as life-threatening by hospital staff. Police have not confirmed whether the boy was heading to the game at the time of the accident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the cause of the collision.
