Meteorologist Dylan Dreyer from “Today” hinted at potential replacements for Hoda Kotb, who recently announced her departure as a co-anchor on the show. According to Dreyer, any member of the “Today” team could step up to fill the empty chair next to Savannah Guthrie. Dreyer expressed her belief that the team has the talent and chemistry to handle the transition seamlessly.
During the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, Dreyer shared her thoughts with E! News cohost Keltie Knight, noting that no decision has been made yet but anyone from the core group could be a likely choice. Dreyer joked about trying to get Al Roker, a longtime “Today” anchor, to retire.
Kotb’s sudden departure came as a surprise to Dreyer and other members of the show, who showed support for her as she made the emotional announcement. Kotb tearfully explained that she wanted more time with her family, especially her daughters, and felt it was the right time to move on. She expressed gratitude for her time on the show and the support she received from her colleagues.
As Kotb bids farewell, the speculation continues about who will replace her on “Today.” The NBCUniversal family, including E!, NBC, and Peacock, will be eagerly watching as the transition unfolds.
