11-time Olympic medalist and Houston resident Simone Biles is venturing into the culinary world with the opening of her restaurant, Taste of Gold, in early 2025. The restaurant, located in Terminal A of George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), is being constructed in collaboration with The Playmakers Group. Biles aims to offer a dining experience featuring award-winning menu items and her favorite flavors.
Mark Brezinski will curate the food and drinks menu for Taste of Gold, which is being operated by SSP America. The restaurant is set to open near Gate A8 in IAH. Biles’ husband, Jonathan Owens, expressed his excitement and pride for his wife on social media.
Representatives for Biles have confirmed the plans for Taste of Gold, but details about the cuisine are still being finalized. Derek Missimo, Taste of Gold’s managing partner, praised Biles’ achievements and leadership as aligning with the restaurant’s values.
Taste of Gold joins The Playmakers Group’s successful ventures with other athletes in Texas airports. With IAH being Houston’s largest airport, the restaurant is expected to cater to a large audience of travelers. Biles looks forward to offering a unique dining experience to guests at her hometown airport.
