Despite the charges, Adams vowed to fight them and asked New Yorkers for their support before passing judgment.
The indictment comes at a time of turmoil for the Adams administration, with several top officials resigning amid federal probes targeting the mayor’s administration. While some prominent politicians have called for Adams to resign, others have withheld judgment.
