Groton Police discover fugitive from New Hampshire following rollover crash

A crash on Groton Long Point Road in Connecticut on Sunday morning led to the capture of a man wanted for two felonies in New Hampshire. Groton Police responded to the scene of the crash where they found a stolen car on its side at the beach. The suspect, identified as Christopher Doleo, had fled on foot towards Noble Avenue.

After a search using K9 teams and drones, witnesses directed police to a home on Noble Avenue where Doleo was found hiding in a crawl space underneath. He was arrested without incident. It was discovered that the crash occurred as the stolen car was speeding and lost control on a curve, crashing into a guardrail and other objects before overturning.

Doleo, who has a history of violent crimes in multiple states, was taken to the hospital for his injuries from the crash and then to Groton Police Headquarters where he was held on a $200,000 bond. The quick response and thorough investigation by Groton Police led to the apprehension of a wanted felon and ensured the safety of the community.
