A tragic motorcycle crash in the City of Gorton late Friday night has resulted in the death of a 55-year-old man, according to police reports. The incident occurred on Poquonnock Road and was reported around 11:30 p.m. The motorcyclist, who remains unidentified, was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries but sadly passed away from his injuries.
The Regional Accident Reconstruction Team, made up of members from City Police, Ledyard, Stonington, and the Town of Groton Police Department, is currently investigating the crash. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to contact the Groton City Police Department.
