A fire broke out at the Lions Condominium in Danbury, resulting in the rescue of five people and a cat from a third-floor apartment. Firefighters responded to the scene on Triangle Street just after 3:15 p.m., where heavy smoke was seen coming from the third floor of Building B. Crews rescued individuals who were trying to evacuate, with one person found on a neighboring apartment’s deck and others on the roof. The blaze was contained to one apartment, with two other units suffering water damage. Fortunately, none of the rescued residents sustained serious injuries. The Red Cross is providing assistance to the displaced family, and the fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
