Man arrested in connection with Line Fire as Bridge Fire continues to grow in size


The Bridge Fire in California rapidly grew 10 times in size over 24 hours to become the state’s largest wildfire, destroying at least 33 homes. One of the fires, the Line Fire, resulted in the arrest of a man accused of intentionally starting it. The Bridge Fire, which started Sunday in Angeles National Forest, grew to 46,000 acres by Tuesday evening, exhibiting extreme fire behavior and jumping across counties. In neighboring Nevada, the Davis Fire has also caused damage, spanning over 5,800 acres with containment efforts ongoing. Authorities have issued an air quality alert due to smoke from the wildfires. Firefighters are facing challenging conditions with gusty winds and difficult terrain. Overall, multiple wildfires are raging in Southern California and Nevada, prompting evacuations, containment efforts, and air quality concerns across the region. Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency and mobilized resources from the National Guard to respond to the fires.
