In a press release on Tuesday, it was announced that Kyle Larson will once again attempt the Indianapolis 500 next season, in addition to racing in the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Despite missing out on the double attempt this year due to weather-related issues, Larson expressed his determination to complete the full 1,100 miles and win both races next season.
Larson made history this year by becoming the fifth driver to try to compete in both iconic races on the same day. However, rain caused delays, and he ultimately had to forego the Coca-Cola 600 due to Hendrick Motorsports’ commitment to the Indy 500. This decision led to a dispute with NASCAR but was ultimately resolved with Larson being granted a waiver to participate in the playoffs.
Looking ahead to next season, Larson is once again partnering with Arrow McLaren Racing, with the goal of not only completing the double but also winning both races. His contract with Hendrick Motorsports has been extended to include the 2025 season, and McLaren has committed to providing him with ample testing opportunities for the Indy 500.
While focused on his NASCAR duties and the upcoming playoff races, Larson is already looking forward to his next attempt at the double challenge. With unfinished business from this year, Larson is eager to make his mark in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in 2025.
