Raising Cane’s, a popular fast-food chain known for its chicken fingers, recently opened its second location in Simsbury, Connecticut. The enthusiastic crowd was led by college student Shawn Coon, who arrived before dawn to secure his spot as the first customer. This follows the success of the flagship store in Enfield, where long lines and heavy crowds were observed during the opening last February.
One lucky customer, Glenn McCrystal, won free Cane’s for a year at the Enfield opening and returned to the Simsbury location with hopes of repeating his win. Accompanied by his family, they were able to secure more free meals for the upcoming year. The excitement surrounding the opening was palpable as customers eagerly walked through the doors to experience Cane’s for the first time or for returning fans.
To manage the anticipated large crowds, both Simsbury and Avon police have issued a traffic advisory for the area. Routes 44 and 167 are expected to be the most impacted during lunchtime and early evening hours in the first week of the store’s opening.
Raising Cane’s New England Regional Manager Nick Sandilands expressed gratitude for the community’s support and excitement for the new location. With enthusiastic customers and free meal winners, the opening of Raising Cane’s in Simsbury was a resounding success, setting the stage for the restaurant’s continued popularity in the area.
