Walt Ehmer, the president and CEO of Waffle House, died at age 58. He joined the company in 1992 and quickly rose to senior leadership. He was also a member of the board of trustees for the Atlanta Police Foundation. Ehmer was known for his leadership, dedication, and warmth. He served on various boards, including the Georgia Tech Alumni Association Board of Trustees. The Waffle House chain, which opened in 1955, has over 1,900 locations in 25 states. Ehmer leaves behind three children. His death was attributed to a long illness. Mayor Andre Dickens expressed sadness at the loss, stating that Ehmer’s legacy will not be forgotten. The board of directors for Waffle House also issued a statement mourning his passing. Overall, Ehmer’s impact was felt by many both within and outside the Waffle House family, and he will be greatly missed.
