San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall injured in shooting during robbery – NBC Connecticut

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during an attempted robbery in Union Square on Saturday but is in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries. The suspect in the incident was also shot with their own gun. The 17-year-old suspect from Tracy has been placed in custody, but no formal charges have been filed yet.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, and Police Chief William Scott addressed the public stating that an investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be held accountable. Both Pearsall and the suspect were taken to San Francisco General Hospital for further evaluation.

Pearsall had missed the entire preseason due to a shoulder injury known as a subluxation, where the shoulder partially slides out of the socket and back in. The incident involving Pearsall is a setback for the team ahead of the upcoming season.

The San Francisco Police Department assured that they are working to keep the city safe, with the incident being a rare occurrence in Union Square. Mayor Breed expressed her thoughts and prayers for Pearsall and his family. The situation is still developing and will be updated as more information comes to light.
