The Haddam Neck Fair kicked off this past Friday, marking the start of fair season in the state. The fair, a long-standing tradition, offers a true country fair experience with agriculture, food, displays, rides, live music, and animals. Jackie Macknight, a fair director, highlighted the community feeling that makes the event special.
The fair recently held its 39th annual 5K road race, with a record number of participants signing up this year. Melanie Colek, one of the runners, was impressed by the turnout and support of the local fair. The fair is also a place for making lasting memories, as two women who met at the fair years ago have become close friends.
The fair is open from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday and from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. General admission tickets are $15, with free entry for kids under 12. Ride tickets are available for purchase, with options for individual tickets or an all-day ride bracelet.
Organizers advise attendees to use the East Hampton zip code when using GPS to navigate to the fairgrounds to avoid being directed to the wrong location. For more information on the fair, interested individuals can visit the fair’s website.
Overall, the Haddam Neck Fair offers a fun and memorable experience for all, with something for everyone to enjoy.
