“Charity Softball Game Benefits TFC Aaron Pelletier’s Family with a Double Victory” – NBC Connecticut

Former athletes and local heroes came together at Dunkin Park in Hartford on Saturday for a charity softball game to raise money for the family of fallen Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier. The game, organized by former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Rob Dibble, saw retired athletes facing off against Connecticut state troopers in a competitive match that ended in a tie. The event was a way to honor Trooper First Class Pelletier, who tragically lost his life in May during a traffic stop on I-84 in Southington.

More than a thousand people showed up to support the cause and remember Trooper First Class Pelletier, who was known for his love of softball. The game aimed to bring a small amount of joy to his grieving family, with the community coming together to show their support. Dibble, a Southington native like Trooper First Class Pelletier, felt a personal connection to the cause and was proud to organize the event.

The charity softball game was a touching tribute to a local hero and a way for the community to come together in the face of tragedy. With over 1,200 tickets sold, the event was a success in raising much-needed funds for the Pelletier family. Despite the competitive nature of the game, the overall message was one of unity and support for a family still processing a devastating loss.
